Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using MirrorTales, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account.

2. Account Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account, including child profiles you create.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account and child profiles.
  • You must have legal authority (parent or legal guardian) over any child whose profile you create.

3. Content & Intellectual Property

Stories and illustrations generated by MirrorTales are created using artificial intelligence. Under current copyright law, purely AI-generated content may not be eligible for copyright protection. However:

  • You retain all rights to photos you upload.
  • You receive a perpetual, non-exclusive license to use, download, print, and share stories generated for your account.
  • MirrorTales retains the right to use anonymized, de-identified story templates for platform improvement and the Story Library feature.
  • You may not resell AI-generated content as your own original work without disclosure.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

  • Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe.
  • You can cancel at any time. Access continues until the end of your billing period.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact care@mirrortales.com for refund requests.
  • Story generation limits reset on the 1st of each month (UTC).
  • Print credits do not roll over between months.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload photos of children you do not have legal authority over.
  • Use the platform to generate inappropriate, harmful, or exploitative content.
  • Attempt to circumvent safety filters or content moderation systems.
  • Share or distribute stories featuring other people's children without their consent.
  • Use automated tools to bulk-generate or scrape content from the platform.

6. Content Safety

Every story generated by MirrorTales undergoes a multi-layer safety review, including AI-powered content analysis. We reserve the right to reject, remove, or modify any content that violates our safety guidelines. Repeated violations may result in account suspension.

7. Limitation of Liability

MirrorTales is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in subscription fees in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
