Your child's story is personal. We treat it that way.
Child photos stay encrypted, and we delete them quickly
Photos you upload are stored in a private, encrypted vault — only your account can see them. Once we've built your child's character sheet (the stylized illustration model we use across stories), the raw photos are scheduled for deletion. Stories are made from the sheet, not the photos.
Every story is safety-checked before you see it
Generated stories run through a second-pass safety review before the parent ever previews them. Every illustration is checked for age-appropriateness. Stylized only — we never generate photorealistic images of children.
Compliance posture
We follow COPPA in the US and the equivalent GDPR-K rules in Europe. We're pursuing kidSAFE+ certification, the independent seal that audits children's sites end-to-end (audit underway; we'll surface the seal here once issued).
You own your child's story
We never sell or share your data with advertisers. There are no ads on MirrorTales — ever. You can export every story, photo, and book you've made, and delete your account from Settings any time. We'll wipe everything within 30 days.
